Medicaid Eligibility Program

Central Arkansas Hospital has a Medicaid eligibility specialist on-site who determines if an individual qualifies for state assistance programs. The Social Security Administration determines Medicaid eligibility for people who receive Supplemental Security Income (SS1), while the Department of Human Services (DHS) determines eligibility for everyone else. Central Arkansas Hospital provides assistance with the completion of all necessary financial applications to help the individual qualify for the state assistance. Medicaid interviews are scheduled and are conducted on-site at the DHS offices of the county in which the party resides. DHS makes the final determination as to the individual being approved for Medicaid coverage.
